Brewster Windows are designed such that at Brewster’s angle (55.57°) , s-polarized light will be partially reflected, whereas loss of p-polarised light is minimised. When placed within laser cavities, Brewster windows will cause the laser output to product linearly p-polarised light. 


Calcite can be in the form of transparent to opaque with hints of phosphorescence or fluorescence. This type of crystal has birefringent properties and has an ordinary refractive index of 1.658 and an extraordinary refractive index of 1.486. It can target a wide spectrum of 190-1700nm, and it is a uniaxial crystal frequently use from visible to Near 

IR polarizers.
