LiF(Lithium Fluoride) is one of the best material for VUV(vacuum ultra violet) transmittance. It transmits well into the VUV region at the hydrogen Lyman-alpha line and beyond.

It has a huge transmission range from 150nm-6000nm and is optically isotropic, hygroscopic, and insoluble in water. The uses of LiF includes optical elements such as x-ray monochromator and for windows, lenses, mirrors for UV, visible and IR applications.
