Glan Thompson Polarizer
Glan Thompson Polarizer is constructed by two prisms using high optical grade crystals such as a-BBO or calcite. As an unpolarized light beam enters the front faces, the beam is split between the two interfaces. The extraordinary ray passes through the polarizer resulting in a polarized output reading. Whereas the ordinary rays are reflected from the interface, resulting in scattering and hence partially absorbed by the housing.
