Si-APD Ultra-sensitive photodetector(200-1060nm)

SIMTRUM'S Photon counting module SPD300 is an ultra-sensitive photodetector based on Si-APD technology. It operates over a wavelength range of 200 to 1100 nm and can function in both linear mode and Geiger mode, with a gain exceeding 60 dB in Geiger mode. The SPD300 features a unique high-performance active suppression circuit that enables continuous single-photon detection and allows for detection gates of arbitrary width and period. This circuit achieves avalanche suppression greater than 20 dB, optimizing the performance of the SPD300.In the 700 nm wavelength range, the detection efficiency exceeds 60%, with a dark count rate of 200 to 500 counts per second and a dead time of less than 50 ns.

The standard model of SPD300 has an effective photosensitive detection area of up to 300 µm. Single-photon counting signals are converted into digital TTL signals within the module and transmitted via an SMA interface. The highly integrated modular design facilitates OEM applications and industrial integration.

SPD300 operates in a low-temperature environment of -20 °C through internal refrigeration to achieve the best signal-to-noise ratio. The refrigeration module is controlled by an efficient TEC, with a control accuracy of ±0.2 °C.

Attention

  • Incorrect voltage may damage the module. Ensure that the power supply is correctly connected.
  • APD is a highly sensitive photodetector. The input light signal strength should be controlled in avalanche mode, as excessive light intensity may damage the APD, which can reduce its detection sensitivity and, in severe cases, even lead to diode breakdown.
  • In special applications, the module's operating temperature should not exceed 50 °C, as elevated temperatures may cause an increase in the APD's operating temperature, leading to higher dark count levels.
  • The default dead time for the SPD300 is 50 ns. The dead time setting affects the module's maximum counting rate. When the dead time is set to 50 ns, the standard counting rate is 10 Mcps. If your application has specific requirements regarding dead time settings, please contact us when placing your order.
  • Similarly, the pulse width of the output signal will also affect the maximum counting rate, with a typical pulse width of 30 ns. If your application has specific requirements for the output signal, please contact us when placing your order.
  • The SPD300 supports both spatial and fiber optic interfaces.
