Narrow Bandpass Filters | SIMTRUM Photonics Store

Narrow Filters for Laser

Bandpass Filters are used to select a specific band of the spectrum to allow them to be transmitted, while other wavelengths of the spectrum are blocked. When a light beam passes through the filter, it interferes with the substrate allowing certain wavelengths to be transmitted while others reflected or absorbed. Bandwith can be expressed as full width at half maximum (FWHM). The narrower the bandwidth, the more sophisticated the coating.

Narrow Bandpass Filters only transmit light for a specific narrow wavelength range that is targeted in the spectrum while blocking out all other wavelengths. The bandwith (FWHM) of these filters typically have a range around 10-20nm.

Broadband Bandpass Filters only transmit light for a broader wavelength range that is targeted in the spectrum while blocking out all other wavelengths. The bandwith (FWHM) of these filters typically have a range around 40-80nm.
