THz pulse radiation is commonly generated using ZnTe or GaSe crystal. GaSe crystals is often used for THz generation and has a large bandwidth of up to 41 THz. Due to it's broadband THz generation and detection propoerties, GaSe emitter-detector system performance is considered to achieve comparable or even better results than using thin ZnTe crystals. In order to achieve frequency selective THz wave generation and detection system, GaSe crystals of appropriate thickness should be used. These crystals have a high damage threshold and Generate short and high-quality THz pulses.
