UVFS Porro Prism, Prism www.simtrum.com

Porro Prism is used to alter the orientation of an image through the use of reflection. Incoming light beam enters the face of the prism, reflected along the roof surface through total internal reflection twice before the light beam exits through the same surface parallel to the incoming light beam. An image traveling through a Porro prism is rotated by 180° but not inverted.


Fused Silica is made with materials of high purity, making it ideal for UV or higher energy applications as it is transparent over a wider range of wavelengths. It is scratch resistant and has low thermal expansion coefficient alongside good optical qualities. For high-energy applications, the extreme purity of fused silica eliminates 

microscopic defect sites that could lead to laser damage. Has 

excellent transmission in the UV dimension.
